Transcatheter umbrella closure of valvular and ~ METHODS: Between February 1987 and September 1990, eight patients who were believed to be poor operative candidates were taken to the catheterization laboratory for transcatheter double-umbrella closure of a valvular or a paravalvular leak. Four patients had a paravalvular leak around a prosthetic aortic valve.

Transcatheter aortic paravalvular leak closure using 3 ~ Paravalvular leak (PVL) is usually related to disruption of prosthetic valve sewing ring sutures. Many previous reports have described transcatheter paravalvular leak closure in adult patients [1–4], but those describing such a procedure in children are scarce.A 16-year-old boy underwent an aortic valve replacement (AVR) with a stented bioprosthesis Hancock 23 mm due to combined aortic .

Transcatheter Management of Paravalvular Leaks - American ~ Paravalvular prosthetic leak (PVL) or regurgitation is a serious and under-recognized condition affecting 6-15% of surgical prosthetic valves and annuloplasty rings. 1,2 Moderate to severe PVL after surgical or transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) is associated with increased mortality. 3 PVL can affect any valve in any position but is more common with mitral mechanical prostheses .

Transcatheter closure of paravalvular leaks using a ~ INTRODUCTION: Transcatheter paravalvular leak closure (TPVLC) has become an established treatment option but is mostly performed with off-label use of different non-dedicated occluders. The first one specifically designed for TPVLC is the paravalvular leak device (PLD - Occlutech). AIM: We present initial short-term results of a prospective registry intended to assess the safety and efficacy .

Transcatheter Closure of Paravalvular Defects Using a ~ Transcatheter closure of para-valvular leaks has been hampered by technical challenges, the limitations of available imaging modalities, and the lack of closure devices specifically designed for this purpose (6). We describe our initial experience with paravalvular leak closure using a device specifically designed for this purpose.

Conventional surgery and transcatheter closure via ~ Paravalvular leak (PVL) is a common complication after surgical valve replacement, with reported incidences at follow-up of 2–10% for prosthetic valves in the aortic position and 7–17% in the mitral position. 1–3 Although most PVLs remain clinically silent, 1–3% of patients require re-operations because of heart failure, haemolysis, or a combination of both. 4–6 A surgical closure of .

Outcomes After Paravalvular Leak Closure / JACC ~ Objectives The aim of this study was to compare outcomes of transcatheter intervention (TI) versus surgical intervention (SI) for paravalvular leak (PVL). Background Data comparing the treatment of PVL with TI and SI are limited. Methods A retrospective cohort study was conducted comparing baseline characteristics, procedural details, and 1-year survival in consecutive patients who underwent .
